Hi Puri,

it's 2x(3-4)hrs travel time, so it's better to stay overnight.

best wishes,

Samuel

Is it better to buy the train tickets from BRATISLAVA to BUDAPEST the same day o the previous day?

The first train from Bratislava is at 5:50h, so the next ones are at 7:50h, 9:50h, ... ?

We will travel on Tuesday, August 2nd.

Hi Maria,

yes, you are correct about the time schedule. I think it is perfectly OK to buy on the day of travel, there is a small chance of this connection being sold out.

Hi ,

I'm afraid you will have to split your ticket into 3: Bu->Ba, Ba->Pr, Pr->Bu.

Have a nice trip,

Samuel

Hi Jan,

I am sorry but such opportunity is not provided on this track by rail roads. We recommend you to buy one way ticket from Budapest to Bratislava stay few days and after that buy ticket from Bratislava tu Prague. If you are student and have ISIC card you can receive reduced price on your tickets.

If I turned up at Budapest station on the day of travel, what would a ticket cost me to travel to Bratslavia?

Is there much difference if I purchased a ticket on line

Hi Jan Coutts,

the prize is the same, around 15 euro, perhaps slightly less.

Best wishes,

Samuel

Hi Jan Coutts,

These are prices for train tickets from Budapest to Bratislava:

TICKET NORMAL TARIFF REDUCED TARIFF

Return ticket 17,50€ 8,75€

One-way ticket app. 15€ app. 7,5€

Price is set so there is no fluctuation of prices but there is possibility that train will be full and you wont get seat. This happens during a school year and holidays. I recommend you to buy ticket as soon as possible and not at last moment.

Hi,

is it possible to transport 2 mountain bikes in the route: bratislava - budapest? If yes, what kind of ticket do we need?

Thank you very much in advance.

Hi Carlos,

it is indeed possible in most of the trains. To be sure check your connection on www.zsr.sk, there should be a icon of a suitcase (if it is inside a square, you need to reserve the space). The price is 1 euro.

You can find more detail here

http://www.slovakrail.sk/en/services/luggage-and-bicycles.html

Have a nice trip!
